This year, the
Journal of Vocational Behavior
celebrates its 50-year anniversary. Since its start in 1971, the mission of the journal has been
to publish original empirical and theoretical articles that contribute novel insights to the fields of career choice, career development, and work adjustment across the lifespan. In the special 50-year anniversary issue that JVB just published, we look back those 50 years of research on careers and vocational behavior and, based on this rich knowledge, formulate agendas for future research in the field. To do so, the editorial board members and associate editors - led by editor-in-chief Nadya Fouad - created a list of critical topics and then invited experts in the field to write a future-oriented article on their topic. Importantly, we encouraged the invited experts to invite also junior colleagues to collaborate with to ensure a diversity of author teams.
And the final result is now available! There is an introduction from the editor, 9 invited articles, and another 8 articles written by current associate editors of the journal. We are extremely excited about this anniversary issue, and we hope that it will make a strong contribution to the field. Enjoy reading the issue!
