    PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE 

    This position will be housed in the Lee Business School, which is among the top 5% of business schools worldwide to hold dual AACSB accreditation for both the overall school and for the accounting programs. Home to approximately 4,000 students, including 500 graduate students and 85 faculty members, the Lee Business School offers five master's degree programs, including an Executive MBA, and nine undergraduate degree programs. The disciplinary home of this position is currently open: the successful candidate will be housed either in the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET) or the Department of Marketing and International Business (MIB). 

    The MET department is committed to increasing the research profile of the Lee Business School. The department consists of 27 full-time faculty, including 23 tenured and tenure-track faculty, spanning the disciplines of Information Systems (IS), Management, and Entrepreneurship. The management and entrepreneurship areas within the MET department consists of 14 full-time faculty members (excluding the Dean), including 12 tenured and tenure-track faculty. Current faculty members in the MET department have published in top management and information systems journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Journal of Management Information Systems, among others. MET faculty have also published in other reputed journals outside the business discipline, such as in medical informatics (Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association) and psychology (Psychological Methods) and have received grants from prestigious US Federal Agencies (e.g., NSF, AHRQ). 

    The MIB department provides a professional orientation to education with coursework emphasizing both theory and practice of marketing, international business, and operations management and strives to enhance ties between students, faculty, alumni and the business community. The department comprises 14 full-time faculty members, one full-time support staff member and five graduate assistants. There are approximately 200 undergraduates in the marketing program and 70 undergraduates in the international business program. There is also a Marketing concentration in the MBA program. Current MIB faculty members' scholarly articles appear in highly reputable marketing, international business, and logistics/supply chain journals such as Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Decision Sciences, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations & Product Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and International Journal of Logistics Management.

    ROLE of the POSITION 

    The MET and MIB departments invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2022. This position is part of the "Entertainment and Media" cluster, which the university recently established as a focal area of research that creates new initiatives that are forward thinking and cutting edge for all aspects of the entertainment industry. The disciplinary home of this position is currently open, but the successful candidate will be housed either in the MET department or the MIB department. The ideal candidate is someone who studies important questions in marketing, operations/supply chain management, and/or organizational behavior/human resource management with some focus on the entertainment and media industries, particularly the film industry as the state of Nevada is welcoming the film industry to Las Vegas and is creating the necessary infrastructure to attract and retain that group. 

    The new faculty member will conduct research leading to high-quality refereed publications, teach in the various programs offered by the home department, and perform service activities for the home department, school, university, and the profession. Expectations are that the successful candidate will publish on subjects and topics related to the candidate's discipline in premier disciplinary and business journals, and/or premier journals in related disciplines (e.g., entertainment, film, media, etc.). We also expect that the new faculty member will pursue and receive grants awarded by major federal, state, and other agencies and foundations, particularly on issues and topics related to entertainment, film, and media. The successful candidate will also enhance the department's teaching capabilities in their respective disciplinary area and will be expected to teach as needed in the various graduate and undergraduate programs offered by the home department. The normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty is two courses a semester.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    This position requires: (1) a Ph.D. in marketing, operations/supply chain management, organizational behavior/human resources management, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited business school and (2) a strong research portfolio or pipeline as evidenced by publications (or advanced stages of revision) in premier journals, and/or a successful history of receiving/submitting grants from noted federal or state agencies, and/or a substantial research pipeline in premier journals. ABDs may be considered but credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience and evidence of effective teaching. Preference will also be given to applicants with evidence of collaboration with researchers in creative arts fields and/or business practitioners in entertainment and media industries. 

    SALARY RANGE 

    Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
