    The Department of Management at Florida State University is filling a tenure-track faculty position in Human Resources (HR) at the Assistant Professor level for the Fall of 2021. An earned doctorate is required by the Summer of 2021.

    Responsibilities
    Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Human Resources Management courses (e.g., Staffing, Compensation, Training and Development) and graduate courses in the Department of Management's curriculum. The teaching load will be 2/2.

    Also, candidates must possess strong research skills and the interest and abilities to conduct and publish research in top-tier journals.

    Engagement with our highly-regarded Ph.D. program will be expected. In recent years, our graduates placed at reputable peer institutions, such as Baylor University, the University of North Texas, the University of Tennessee, the University of Utah, Mississippi State University, Iowa State University, and Michigan State University.

    Minimal service activities will be expected during the initial years of appointment.

    Qualifications

    Doctorate from an accredited institution in an area of specialization consistent with Human Resources and Management. Experience teaching course(s) that are listed under "Responsibilities" in online and traditional formats, and evidence of research publications and work in progress.

    Department

    The Department of Management has ten full-time tenure-track faculty members that fall into the two general categories of Human Resources Management/ Organizational Behavior and Strategic Management. The OBHR faculty include Darren Brooks (Assistant Department Chair), Shanna Daniels, Jack Fiorito, Wayne Hochwarter, Sam Paustian-Underdahl, and Gang Wang. The strategy faculty include Michael Holmes, David King (Department Chair), Bruce Lamont, David Maslach, and Horatio Rousseau.

    In recent years, the faculty has published in top-tier micro-and macro-level journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Organization Science.
