Are you toying with the idea of Writing a Review Paper that Advances Theory?

Are you looking for Expert Feedback and Strategic Advice on Preparing your Review Paper for Publication?

Advancing Theory with Review Articles: How to Improve the Prospects for Publication is a PDW designed to stimulate and nurture interesting and promising avenues for developing reviews which advance theory, and thereby also increase the prospects for publication in high quality journals (Post, Sarala, Gatrell, and Prescott 2019).

The 90 minute PDW consists of two interactive segments that feature interactions between: (i) participants with ideas for review papers that have the potential to make a theoretical contribution and; (ii) scholars with expertise publishing review papers that advance theory.

Segment I: Panelists' prepared remarks & live Q&A:

    • Dermot Breslin, University of Sheffield
    • Jonathan Pinto, Imperial College London
    • Christina Hoon, Bielefeld University

Segment II: Scholarly experts on review articles facilitate breakout room discussions, to develop participants' ideas for review papers in ways that advance organization and management theory and discuss the process of writing review articles that advance theory.

    • Alina M. Baluch, University of St Andrews
    • Dermot Breslin, University of Sheffield (Co-Editor in Chief, International Journal of Management Reviews)
    • Christina Hoon, Bielefeld University
