The June 8 application deadline for the August 8 ODC Virtual Doctoral Student Consortium is rapidly approaching. Please apply as soon as possible as openings will be limited to 25 participants. Below are answers to common questions:
What do I do if I don't have the funding to participate in the AoM annual meeting?
Funding from the ODC Division is available! Given the unusual circumstances we face this year, the ODC Division may cover the AoM meeting registration fee, if needed, for those doctoral students who are members of the ODC Division. We do not want any ODC Division student member to feel that they cannot participate.
What is the format and time commitment?
The consortium has been modified to fit the digital format of this year's annual meeting program. It will take place on Saturday morning, August 8, from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Participants will also have an opportunity to participate in an additional mentoring session to receive feedback on their dissertation project that may take place at another time with mentors who live within their time block (Americas, Europe/Africa, Asia/Pacific).
Do I have to participate in the full event?
Of course, the preference is for each participant to take part in the full set of sessions. However, we are mindful of the challenges associated attending a virtual conference with participants from all around the world.
How do I apply?
Please send the following to David Bright (david.bright@wright.edu)
- A recommendation letter from your dean, department chair, or major advisor/supervisor that verifies your (a) status/progress and (b) year in your school's doctoral program.
- A one-page bio summarizing your contact information, research and teaching interests, and publications.
- A 3-5 page (typed and double-spaced) summary of your dissertation project, including the research question, rationale, any hypotheses/propositions, proposed methods, and any results (if applicable).
- Indicate whether you need financial support to attend.
