Hi –
Below is the table of contents for the December issue of Group & Organization Management. I'd also like to call your attention to two new categories of articles that we'll be considering going forward:
- GOM Now --- The GOM Now category (see Stacey Kessler's editorial in this issue) will involve short (about 2,500 words, all inclusive) peer-reviewed papers that disseminate business expertise in a compact and timely manner (similar to "white papers"). These papers will not be expected to make a theoretical contribution, but rather to provide insights about how to best resolve organizational issues from a practical perspective. We will begin accepting submissions on January 1st – just make a note in your cover letter that you've written a GOM Now article.
- GOMusings --- GOMusings are short (about 2 - 6 pages) peer-reviewed commentaries that give author(s) the chance to "refresh" readers' minds about a topic, challenge readers to re-examine their assumptions about a topic, spark needed debate about a topic, or shape the thinking about a new topic (see Kevin Cruz's GOMusing in this issue). We really want these "musings" to be different than your typical article or commentary by allowing authors to write in their own (non-academic) voices. In fact, we thought hard about calling these "rants", because what we really want are well-reasoned, informative, and entertaining rants. We will begin accepting submissions immediately – just make a note in your cover letter that you've written a Musing, in case we don't figure it out on our own.
