    The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama (UA) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Management or other business discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Accounting). Highly qualified candidates may be considered for endowed positions associated with this type of hire. The position start date is August 16, 2022. Candidates must have completed a doctorate in their respective discipline or a closely related field by the start of the appointment. 

    The position has been created to support the University of Alabama's research emphasis on issues related to cyber security. Ideal candidates will have a proven record of external funding and publishing and interest in topics like insider threat appraisal and prevention strategies, cybersafety training, team functioning in cybersecurity, reactions to employee surveillance, cybersecurity executive leadership, work-life balance in the cybersecurity domain, diversity in the cybersecurity workforce, and cybersecurity issues related to remote work, and personnel selection and training in cybersecurity.

    Preferred candidates will have published in top management journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, and Management Information Systems Quarterly as well as area-specific journals such as Computers and Human Behavior. Preferred candidates should also demonstrate evidence of excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching. Candidates with teaching experience in cybersecurity management and cybersecurity strategy are also preferred.

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements.     The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa, AL-a growing city with a current population of around 100,000.  In addition to a great sports atmosphere, Tuscaloosa has several noteworthy attractions: the Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre-a 7,400-seat venue that has recently hosted musical groups such as Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews Band, Jill Scott, and Rascal Flatts; the Children's Hands-on Museum and the Alabama Museum of Natural History; several large lakes nearby for fishing and recreation; and an active Farmers' Market on the banks of the Black Warrior River.  In addition, the neighboring city of Northport hosts the Annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts, which is a gathering of several hundred folk, visionary, and contemporary artists who display their work and craftsmanship to the public.
