COLLABORATION in the WORKPLACE

DEAR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, ALL the BEST!

It does not seem to me that COLLABORATION is a subject often approached as an AUTONOMOUS TOPIC in the management literature – and when it is addressed it is more in the context of inter-organization collaboration.

For example, a search in Academy of Management Annals for the word Collaboration in title returns only 2 papers – both focused on collaboration among organizations.

Of course, there are some management THEMES STRONGLY RELATED TO COLLABORATION, namely, PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOR and, of course, TEAMWORK.

I would be delighted to DISCUSS and get INSIGHTS from the community on the following issues.

     1) Does it make sense to consider collaboration as an AUTONOMOUS MANAGEMENT THEME?

     2) What will be some of the most important BUILDING BLOCKS of workplace collaboration? Trust, psychological safety, empathy, conflict resolution, prosocial orientation, self-awareness, positive relationships, positive communication?

     3)  Which 3-5 papers / books can be indicated as GOOD READINGS on collaboration in the workplace?

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

    Amândio
