    Dear Colleagues,

We are putting together a presenter symposium on Positive Relationships in the Workplace, intended to submit to the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Seattle, WA August 5-9, 2022. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your work for inclusion within that symposium.

The Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS) movement investigates the positive aspects of organizations, excellence, or positive “deviance” from the norm (Cameron, Dutton & Quinn, 2003; Cameron & Spreitzer, 2011). The movement that started about 20 years ago within the Academy of Management has produced a prolific body of work on various constructs on multiple levels of analysis, such as organizational strengths and virtuousness, individual well-being and positive interpersonal dynamics. Given the growing interest in positive aspects of management, especially in the context of major turbulences, and in line with the Annual Meeting theme of “Creating a Better World Together”, it is a great time to examine positive relationships in the workplace. We are seeking work that examines POS relationships between individuals, within teams, and at the organizational level. Ideas include but are not limited to high-quality connections, trust, relational coordination, reciprocity, psychological safety etc.

If you are interested in having your work included in this symposium submission, please send a 250-500 word abstract to mgrabars@lakeheadu.ca and myadav@uwm.edu by December 6th, 2021. Abstract selection complete and notifications will be made by December 10th, 2021, when extended abstracts are due December 23rd, 2021. Please note that the updated deadline for AOM final submissions is January 11th, 2022.

Organizers: Mirit Grabarski, Megha Yadav, & Natalie Schneider

    Discussant: Gretchen Spreitzer

    Best Regards,

    Megha Yadav
