We invite you to participate in the 2021 AOM PDW on "Advancing Organizational Network Research: Developing Ideas and Draft Papers for Publication" (session 481).

The PDW is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 1, 8:00-10:30EDT. The format is live open synchronous.

    PDW Co-Organizers:

    Andrew Parker, University of Exeter

    Dan Halgin, University of Kentucky

Registration Link for the PDW: https://uebs.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cGwcBsG4ZfAuit8.

Summary: This workshop aims to provide participants (in particular junior faculty and PhD students) with an understanding of how to publish organizational network studies in management journals. This workshop sees the unique opportunity to bring together leading academics from the LINKS Center for Social Network Analysis of the University of Kentucky, and the University of Exeter Centre for Social Networks; who have published in a wide range of top management journals.

The provisional format is as follows

    8:00am - 8:10am PDW Introduction and Overview

8:10am - 9:00am Panel Discussion. Panelists are from the University of Exeter Centre for Social Networks and University of Kentucky LINKS Center for Social Network Analysis. There will be six panelists drawn from: Ajay Mehra, Dan Halgin, Jessica Methot, Joe Labianca, Stefano Tasselli, Alessandro Lomi, Alexandra Gerbasi, Leroy White, and Cecile Emery. Questions for the panelists can be submitted ahead of time through the registration link above. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions through the chat function.

9-10:30am EDT: Breakout Groups. Each of our panelists will act as discussant in a breakout group. Based on their proposed research theory and methods, each workshop participant will be matched in small breakout groups (approximately 3 people) with a senior scholar with similar research interests. In their small groups, the senior scholars will discuss research proposals submitted prior to the workshop by the participants, providing insights and suggestions for improving their research. The participants within a breakout group will also have the opportunity to see the papers from participants in their group prior to the workshop and this will allow them to engage with the discussion and comment on each paper. Papers should be a maximum of 3,000 words and should be submitted to Andrew Parker (a.parker3@exeter.ac.uk) by Sunday 25 July.

Thanks for your interest. We look forward to seeing you!

    Andrew Parker & Dan Halgin
