    University College Cork wishes to appoint an academic to a new Lectureship in the Department of Management & Marketing, Cork University Business School and School of Pharmacy (joint appointment) related to the newly-formed iEd Hub.


    This post is directly connected to and funded through Pillar 3 (Innovation and Agility) of the Human Capital Initiative (HCI). The iEd Hub is a HCI-funded project which will be delivered by a consortium led by University College Cork and includes Munster Technological University and multiple enterprise partners in the Life Science/Medtech sector. The consortium is developing a novel, agile educational platform to produce next generation graduates for the Health & Life Science industry sector in Ireland. This programme will support the development of Pharma and Health Tech industries and strengthen their partnership with the University, MTU and the Health Service.

    The lecturer will work within a team tasked with the development of a suite of programmes within a defined-time period, and delivery of these programmes, contributing significantly to the iEd Hub goal of developing a suite of novel programmes in association with industry partners in the life science sector.

    Cork University Business School, of which the Department of Management and Marketing is of five Departments, is committed to providing a dynamic and supportive learning, teaching and research environment, which recognises the diverse backgrounds and interests of both students and staff. Faculty are increasingly recognised at a national and international level for the quality of their research as evidenced by publications in the leading international journals, holding of editorial roles, membership of editorial advisory boards, and funding awards.

    The School of Pharmacy is a central and highly active school in the Life Sciences at UCC, with a strong research ethos, and an excellent track record of research and innovation, including strong educational interactions with BioPharma industries through BSc, MSc and PhD training.

    Applications for this Lectureship are invited from those with teaching and research interests and experience in the domains of leadership, organisational behaviour, career development and/or human resource management.

    The appointed candidate will have demonstrated potential for teaching and training. They will also be expected to develop a research programme in a relevant area that is in line with the schools' research areas, the iEd Hub, and the future needs of industry.

    Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale: €34,748 - €61,370 (Scale B) / €36,658 - €58,397 (Scale A).Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
