Hello! My name is Henriette Lundgren and I am a Visiting Scholar at The George Washington University in the Department of Human and Organizational Learning. I am conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Ellen Scully-Russ, Associate Professor and Department Chair.
The purpose of this email is to invite you to participate in our study:
Facilitating Experiential Learning
Experiential learning examples might include: business games, reflective journaling, role-plays, simulations, case studies, dialogues, community service, or other learning activities that spark, generate, or uncover "concrete experiences".
I am interested in getting your perspective because you:
Are a facilitator, trainer, coach, lecturer or workplace educator
Use experiential learning techniques in your professional practice
Have experienced a critical incident or significant moment in your facilitation or teaching - positive, negative, or ambivalent
The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the interaction between facilitators and participants in the context of workplace learning, especially around critical incidents in experiential learning.
This study is an opportunity for you to share your views and potentially become more self-aware about the role you play in the context of learning facilitation and/or teaching.
I have identified you as a potential volunteer participant for this study, and please accept my deepest and heart-felt appreciation for your consideration to voluntarily participate in the study.
What is required?
If you decide to take part in this study, we will ask you to answer some questions about a critical incident or significant moment in your own teaching or facilitation. Answering these questions will take you about 25-30 minutes.
What are the ethical and confidentiality considerations?
The study has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board associated with The George Washington University. The researcher will ensure that all aspects of the study will be conducted under the guidelines and established policies to ensure the highest ethical and confidentiality standards. A full copy of all final published articles will be made available, upon request.
