    Professorship in Management Studies
SAID BUSINESS SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD

Saïd Business School wishes to appoint an internationally leading academic to the position of Statutory Professor of Management Studies. This is a permanent, full-time faculty position comparable to a chaired full professor in the North American system, and the most senior academic grade at the University of Oxford.

The postholder will join the Organisation Studies group, which conducts research at the individual, organisational, industry, and field level. In recent years, group members have explored a wide range of change processes, including professionals' career transitions, mergers and acquisitions, socio-technical disruption, strategic alignment, and implementation in health care. An important focus of the group is leadership and its challenges: navigating competing expectations and goals, mental health in leadership roles, and the distinctive obstacles and opportunities for women in leadership. Group members also study the emotional aspects of work and organisations, and processes of individual and organisational resilience and growth.

The successful candidate for this Professorship should hold a doctorate, have a world-class academic background, and be committed to a programme of intellectually rigorous and relevant research in management and organisation studies that is publishable in top academic journals. A strong track record of publishing in these journals is essential, as well as an ability to contribute to the practice of management. The postholder will be expected to teach on the School's graduate programmes, in particular, the MBA and Executive MBA, and in executive education, which spans open enrolment and custom programmes. The candidate should therefore have a proven record of and commitment to outstanding teaching in organisation studies on both graduate and executive education programmes, as well as experience in supervising and mentoring graduate and doctoral students.

The postholder will be a member of both the Saïd Business School and the Green Templeton College communities. They will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community and will have access to the excellent research facilities which Oxford offers. Green Templeton is a post-graduate college which means there are no tutorial obligations associated with this post.

Applications are particularly welcome from women, disabled people, and people of Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently under-represented in academic posts in Oxford. Applications are to be made online. The closing date is 12.00 noon (GMT) Tuesday 18th January 2022.
