Scholars continue to disagree about what constitutes a high-quality literature review. In this webinar, we will discuss different kinds of literature reviews. The goal is to establish a new focus: move beyond "the how" (procedure) to "the why" of literature reviews (purpose). We will discuss why it is important to think about a review article's purpose and how researchers can comprehend it better by seeing differences in reflexivity and substantive focus. This webinar will help authors consider how to fit their articles to the status of the field they are reviewing, instead of blindly following a single idealized model or procedure. We will also explore the implications of artificial intelligence on some review types and develop new reviewing practices.
