    Novel Approach
Leadership is written with the easy and engaging conversational tone of a book that you'd find in an airport bookshop, but with the academic rigor and research backing of a university textbook. I've taken a novel approach that I believe will really resonate with students today; my goal is to make leadership accessible to everyone.

It offers a clear, concise overview of leadership, emphasizing that there isn't a single best way to lead; true leadership emerges from within. Authenticity is key for successful leaders – they remain true to themselves, drawing strength from their diverse constellation of experiences, perspectives, and heritages. Leadership invites students to challenge traditional norms about leader identity and develop their own positive leadership behaviors.

This book's transformational approach empowers students to critically examine their beliefs, values, and experiences, to develop a reflective self-knowledge base, an appreciation for multiple perspectives, and a sense of personal agency. Students' learning is supported by over 30 in-text activities and self-assessment quizzes designed to reframe their past experiences as leadership interventions and draw out valuable self-knowledge.

    Author Interview
It was my pleasure to chat with the Sage Asia Pacific team today – we talked about my personal background, from Kiev to Auckland, then Perth, alongside my professional journey, and how these experiences have shaped my perspectives on leadership development. We then dive into what inspired me to write the book, how it's different to the many other leadership texts already on the market, and how educators can make the most of it in their teaching.

    Here's a link to the interview: https://apacsagepub-perspectivesblog.com/2024/10/21/in-conversation-with-andrei-lux

There's some great stuff in there, which even those close to me and the project might not have heard before.

Thank you for considering this text. I'd love to hear your thoughts, and please feel free to share it with any of your colleagues who may find it useful.
