Dear Scholars,
We are organizing a symposium proposal for the 2025 Academy of Management (AOM) Conference, centered on the role of emotional constructs in shaping the job search process. Our focus is on young job seekers in the early stages of their careers. We invite researchers to contribute to this symposium by sharing insights and findings related to the following themes:
- Emerging or underexplored emotional constructs influencing the job search process (e.g., ambivalent emotions, emotional calibration, envy, etc.)
- The role of emotional intelligence, emotional self-efficacy, regulation, or calibration in shaping job search outcomes
- The psychological and emotional impacts of prolonged job searches on individuals' well-being
- Strategies to empower job seekers in managing emotional challenges during the job search process
We are looking for three to four contributors for the proposal. If you are interested in participating, please submit a brief summary of your paper (approximately one page) by Friday, December 6. For more information, feel free to contact Imelda.freddy@unt.edu and virginie.kidwell@unt.edu.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and thank you for considering this opportunity!
Best regards,
