    [Sorry for cross posting]

    Dear Colleagues,

Please join us for our Caucus (13089): "Let's Not Sit Together" - Perspectives on Intra-Racial Dynamics Among East Asian Professionals to be held on:

    Sunday, August 11, at 09:45 – 11:15 CT (GMT-5/UTC-5)

Location: Swissotel: Élevé River View 2

This collaborative caucus will explore the intra-racial tensions and the concept of self-group distancing among East Asian professionals working within the United States and Canada. Through conversations, attendees will form potential collaborations and develop new research programs on this under-explored topic.

This session will be organized into two parts. In the first part, scholars will form small discussion groups focusing on central questions aimed at advancing potential research programs on this topic (e.g., What are the pertinent theories and frameworks? What are the potential motivations and implications of self-group distancing within the workplace for East Asians, their organizations, and society at large? In which workplace contexts is self-group distancing most likely to occur?). In the second part, we will engage in debriefing activities with the full group to further establish research programs and encourage future collaborations.

No registration is required. However, if you could kindly indicate your interest via the conference program site (session link: https://cdmcd.co/8YvB7g), it will greatly help us with anticipating attendance and setting up the room.

We invite members of the wider AOM community with shared interests to engage in conversation, form potential collaborations, and develop new research programs.

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!

    Jen & Yanhong
